As a structural engineer and teacher of structures to architecture students at UL-Lafayette some years ago, and in my current position teaching structures to construction majors at LSU, I am very excited about this great project.
I was just starting to create powerpoint presentations to enhance my lectures that follow my textbook, 'Essential Structural Technology for Construction and Architecture,' Prentice Hall, 2001.
I will review the 'I.S. Book' on DVD when it is completed, and then determine how to proceed with incorporating multimedia into structures.
At a minimum, it seems that students should supplement lectures with the DVD. Perhaps textbooks (and professors!) may be destined to go the way of dinosaurs. Many of my students already view me in this light as it is...
